Personal Information
Katie is an Associate Member of McCartneys, based at Knighton office. Katie joined McCartneys in 2008 after graduating from Harper Adams University College with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. Under the guidance of the firm Katie qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).
Katie undertakes a full range of professional work including Single Payment Scheme paperwork and trading of entitlements, agri-environment scheme applications, compensation claims and negotiations, agricultural planning appraisals, letting and selling of land and rural property, landlord and tenant matters under both the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 and Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995, and valuations for varying purposes.
Katie is also fully involved in the running of Knighton livestock market and can frequently be seen taking to the rostrum selling both at market and farm dispersal sales.
A local girl, Katie is a farmer’s daughter from Llangunllo, where she enjoys helping on the farm. She has been a member of Knighton Young Farmers Club for many years, being a past secretary. Always willing to have a go she has been lucky enough to achieve success in a variety of competitions from flower arranging to public speaking and stockjudging. Her proudest moments being winning the Welsh Black cattle judging at the Royal Welsh Show in 2004, the Butchers Lambs judging at the Royal Welsh Show Winter Fair in 2006 and winning Radnor YFC Senior Stockman of the Year in 2008. Other interest include sport, particularly hockey, and music.
